Need to know: Woman pleads guilty to knife threat at Birmingham school
- A 21-year-old woman is facing jail after pleading guilty to threatening someone with a knife at a Birmingham primary school.
- Capri Anderson from Shard End admitted threatening a person with a blade at Brownmead Primary Academy on February 10. The incident happened outside the school and pupils were undisturbed.
- Anderson appeared at Birmingham Crown Court via video link from HMP Foston Hall, where she has been in custody for four months. The victim was an adult, not a pupil at the school.
- Her defence lawyer said the offence was "more a question of a crisis situation" rather than planned criminality. The court heard Anderson has mental health difficulties.
- District Judge Adrian Lower ordered pre-sentence and psychiatric reports ahead of sentencing on August 19. He told Anderson: "Not excluding the possibility you could be sent to prison as a result of your guilty plea."
- Headteacher Wendy Carter said staff contacted police who "arrived within minutes to deal with the situation" and children were "wholly undisturbed throughout."
