Beryl Richards has been granted an MBE for services to children's television, in the King’s Birthday Honours list.
The Cornwall resident has directed a number of children’s shows in her career including Rainbow and The Sooty Show.
Richards is a multi award-winning writer and director, having received six Bafta awards, two Emmy nominations, and two Bafta nominations
