Woman suffers serious injuries during 3am assault in Derby

Officers are keen to hear from those who saw the incident or caught it on dash cams

A woman has been seriously injured in an assault in Derby.

Police said the incident happened between 3am and 3.30am on Saturday, June 13, at the junction of London Road and Nelson Street.

A man is said to have approached a woman and assaulted her, causing serious injuries.

It is understood that the man and woman know each other.

The victim has been taken to hospital for treatment, and her injuries have since been described as not life-changing or threatening.

Anyone who was in the area at the time and either witnessed the assault or caught it on dash cam has been urged to contact police via their website, the Derbyshire Constabulary Facebook page or by calling 101, quoting reference number 26*343840.
