A man has been convicted of an assault in the Fever nightclub in Exeter.
Mohammed Rouf was convicted at the magistrates court. The 21-year-old was told to stay off the booze for 100 days.
Alcohol abstinence orders are increasingly being used by magistrates to punish defendants guilty of drink-related crime.

GLEN HEATHCOTE, Smythen Street, Exeter. Age: 30. On 13/04/2026 at Exeter shoplifting from the Co-op and further shoplifting offences. Plea: Guilty. Pay compensation.
COHEN LOUD, Meadow Acre Road, Gittisham. Age: 27. On 18/05/2026 at Daisymount junction A30 drink driving (46mg in 100ml of breath). Plea: Guilty. Disqualified for 38 months. Fine £120.
SOUTH WEST WATER LIMITED, Rydon Lane, Exeter. Between 31/03/2024 and 01/06/2024 at Brixham were the water undertaker whose supply system was used for the purposes of supplying water when a water undertaker's supply system was used for the purposes of supplying water to premises at within Littlehempston Water Supply Zone and that water was unfit for human consumption. Contrary to section 70(1) of the Water Industry Act 1991. Plea: Guilty. Fined £1,853,000. Costs of £75,000. Read more on this story.

On 27/06/2025 and other dates at Cullompton fraud by false representation by advertising a car for sale and taking deposit before withdrawing the sale of the car and not returning the deposit money. Plea: Guilty. Community order for 12 months. Compensation. Unpaid work for 224 hours.

On 12/06/2025 and other dates at Cullompton fraud by false representation by advertising a car for sale and taking deposit before withdrawing the sale of the car and not returning the deposit money.
