Huge police presence after 'large group of youths' attack man outside petrol station in Salford

A man has been injured after a large group of youths attacked him outside a petrol station in Salford .

Police were called to Seedley Road at around 5.25pm on Monday (December 30).

Officers say a man in his 20s was attacked by 'large' group of youths.

They were said to be dressed in 'dark clothing'.

It is not yet known whether the man was seriously hurt, but GMP say he was conscious at the scene.

Eyewitnesses reported a 'huge police presence' outside the BP petrol station on Seedley Road.

There were 'at least six vehicles' outside the station, an eyewitness said.

Officers remain at the scene.

A GMP spokesperson said: "A man in his 20s has been attacked by a large group of youths outside a petrol station at around 5.25pm.

"The incident is currently ongoing.

"It is difficult to ascertain the seriousness of his injuries at this stage, though he was conscious at the scene.

"There are no reports of any weapons being used.

"Some people nearby say they saw five males in dark clothing."
