'I performed at a secret royal party - and the Queen showed her true colours'

EXCLUSIVE: Strictly Come Dancing’s La Voix said she is one of the few people to have seen the late Queen Elizabeth II behave in such a "normal" way

Strictly Come Dancing star La Voix said she witnessed a rarely-seen side to the now late Queen Elizabeth II while performing at a private royal celebration. The 45-year-old was asked to sing at Prince William and Prince Harry's New Year's Eve bash at London's Dorchester Hotel and was swiftly surprised by how "normal" they were.

Sharing a particular moment that stays in her memory, the television personality said she spotted the former monarch dancing to Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars' smash hit Uptown Funk - and was impressed by her moves.

"I've [performed] for the Royal Family for two years in a row. I did their New Year's Eve party at the Dorchester for two years in a row for Prince William and Harry - it was their party and it was amazing," she shared.

"Obviously there were loads of NDAs signed and things that I'm not allowed to talk about - I can't give you too much - but I can say I'm one of the only people to have watched the Queen dance to Uptown Funk, Queen Liz," reports Wales Online.

Sharing her thoughts on the Queen's dance moves, La Voix added: "She was amazing! The biggest experience I had from that was it was like watching a regular family have a party - it just felt so normal and so wonderful. I was really honoured to have been able to do that, it was amazing."

The RuPaul's Drag Race UK favourite considers the experience as one of the greatest moments of her career so far, alongside being invited onto Strictly Come Dancing this year. "That was amazing, a bit like doing Strictly. There are certain calls you get where you go, 'Oh my god, that's amazing', and to get the call to do that for the royals was incredible. So yeah, [it was] definitely a highlight," she shared.

The royally-endorsed performer has been dazzling audiences on the Strictly dance floor with her professional partner Aljaž Škorjanec. So far, the pair have already delivered a Jive and an American Smooth, and are set to return with a Waltz routine to Feed the Birds from Mary Poppins this weekend.

While juggling her Strictly commitments, La Voix is also gearing up to take on the role of Dame Trott in Jack and the Beanstalk at Wycombe Swan Theatre, during the festive period.

"Everything I've wanted to do has all come at the same time - it's wonderful, but it's like, just keep calm and carry on," she said of her jam-packed schedule.

"I've never done a Jack and the Beanstalk [show]. I've done pantomime for 20-odd years - Aladdin, Cinderella, and Beauty and the Beast - but never Jack and the Beanstalk, so it'll be a first for me. I'm playing Dame Trott, basically I'm a farmer. I don't know how they're going to make La Voix into a farmer, but I'm excited to bring glamour to the farming community!

"Again, it's another thing I'm doing during this autumn and winter period - is there anything I'm not doing? It's like outreach for me.

"The world is a very unfunny place at the minute and I feel like people need glamour, laughter, and entertainment - and that's what I aim to do. Pantomime is a great example."

Strictly Come Dancing airs tonight at 6.05pm on BBC One.
