We asked Coronation Street fans who killed Theo Silverton, and this was their final answer
Corrie viewers haven't got long until Theo's killer is unmasked in the ITV soap, but they think they aready know who it will be
Soap sleuths are often better than real-life detectives when it comes to sniffing out what's coming next, and that's no different when it comes to Coronation Street's latest 'whodunnit'.
As those who follow the Salford-based ITV soap know, DS Lisa Connor-Swain and DC Kit Green have so far spent weeks trying to pin down Theo Silverton's killer following his shock demise in April.
The builder was found dead after his true colours were exposed, with his death bringing an end to his 13-month reign of both physical and mental abuse over his partner, Todd Grimshaw.
Theo's lifeless body was found by a horrified Betsy Swain on the night of her mum, Lisa Swain's, wedding to Carla Connor. It came after forward scenes aired in February, transported viewers to April, where Betsy was being interviewed by police after discovering the dead body of someone she knew.
It was also revealed at the time that it would either be Theo, Carl Webster, Jodie Ramsey, Megan Walsh or Maggie Driscoll, whose lifeless body she would stumble across.
Eventually, a week after the wedding aired, it was revealed that Theo was the victim, which came after he tried to torment Todd one last time. His death has since triggered a murder investigation, with Corrie confirming Todd as a suspect, along with George Shuttleworth, Summer Spellman, Christina Boyd, Gary Windass and Danielle Silverton.
Summer ended up being charged for Theo's murder before a guilty Tyrone Dobbs ended up telling the police about seeing her on the night of Theo's murder, and the builder alive at the time she left his and Todd's flat.
It has left the case wide open, but the truth will soon be revealed. Corrie viewers have been invited to a dinner party with a difference on the cobbles next week when home truths are served, and the tea is most definitely spilt.
By the end of the evening, viewers will learn who killed Theo, as a series of flashbacks revisit the fateful April night when his body was found. The hour-long episode will air on Monday, June 22, where secrets and lies are exposed, and the mystery of Theo's murder is finally solved.
Before the big reveal, the Manchester Evening News has for months been asking our Corrie fan readers who they think killed Theo - and the final results are clear.
According to the results of our poll, which you can join in with above, at the time of writing, Todd and George are not being considered by fans, with just three per cent and two per cent of the vote, respectively.
While Summer may no longer be charged, 10 per cent of Corrie fans think she could still be responsible, leaving her tied with Christina and Gary. But things soon change when we get to Danielle. Theo's ex-wife is the most popular of the six named suspects to be revealed as the murderer, according to 23 per cent of people who have taken part in the poll.
However, it's clear Corrie fans think there is a major twist on the cards as our addition of 'someone else' has taken 42 per cent of the overall vote. Other names in the frame, as shared by viewers on social media, are Sarah Platt, thanks to her secretive behaviour with Gary, and Theo's son Miles, who made a suspicious return to the cobbles before his father's demise.
As mentioned, the big reveal will be featured during a series of flashbacks, which will be mixed with intense dinner party scenes. Corrie recently shared more details as to what fans can expect, as things start inside Sarah and Kit Green's flat, where the remnants of a dinner party with broken glass, a chair upended and blood splattered across the tablecloth.
We then return to earlier in the day, when Kit discovers that Sarah has invited Todd and Summer round for dinner, and decides to add Gary and his wife, Maria, to the guest list. As Corrie fans know, Sarah and Gary have been hiding something for weeks, with Maria suspecting the former couple are having an affair.
But the dinner party descends into chaos, with a broken glass, an overturned chair and angry accusations thrown. Maria Connor seizes an opportunity to turn up the heat on hubby, Gary, when she accuses Sarah and Gary of having an affair. As everyone reels in shock, secrets and lies are exposed in a shocking series of flashbacks. But how does the evening end with blood splattered across the table?
