Prince William's heartbreaking revelation about Queen and Prince Philip in rare TV interview
The Prince of Wales was speaking to Schitt's Creek star Eugene Levy in a special episode of his documentary series
Prince William has shared his feelings of "missing" his late grandparents while in conversation with Schitt's Creek star Eugene Levy during a special episode of his documentary series.
When asked by the actor if he missed Queen Elizabeth, who passed away in September 2022 after celebrating her platinum jubilee, and her husband Prince Philip, who died 17 months prior, he confirmed that he did.
"I do actually, yeah, I do miss my grandmother, and my grandfather," he confided to the Canadian actor, known for his roles in the American Pie films in the early 2000s.
Levy, who at 78 is two years older than William's father King Charles, was invited to meet William at the castle for a personal guided tour as part of a new episode of his Apple TV+ series The Reluctant Traveler, titled Living The Royal Life In The UK.
The 43 year old Prince of Wales shared with him that the Queen, to whom he was particularly close, was always on his mind when he was at Windsor Castle.
"It's been quite a bit of change, so you do sort of, you think about them not being here any more, and particularly being in Windsor, for me Windsor is her. She loved it here, she spent most of her time here", reports the Mirror.
In the programme, Levy, primarily known for his comedic talents, is seen arriving in London before receiving a written invitation from Prince William to join him at the castle - and to dress appropriately for a dog walk.
The duo converse in a casual manner as they explore the building and stroll through the grounds, with William revealing to the television personality that the tour he's providing has been heavily shaped by his late grandmother. "Showing you around today is very much a case of trying to make sure I'm doing it in the way she'd want you to see it," he explains.
"She had her horses here as well, as you can imagine that was a big deal for her so that's why she loved it here."
In footage unveiled last week, William was seen enjoying a pint at a nearby pub with Levy, where he confessed that 2024 had been "the hardest year I've ever had" following his wife Catherine's and his father's cancer diagnoses.
"Life is said to test us as well and being able to overcome that is what makes us who we are," he reflected.
Their shared experience, recorded in February, becomes accessible from Friday and follows William's brother Harry's four-day UK visit earlier this month, during which he reunited with his father, King Charles, for the first time in two years but avoided seeing William.
The future king has previously spoken about his bond with his "grannie", with whom he enjoyed numerous holidays and who supported him through his mother Diana's death. Following the Queen's passing, he declared: "She was by my side at my happiest moments. And she was by my side during the saddest days of my life."

TV fans can get Apple TV free for a week to stream shows like Ted Lasso, Severance and Slow Horses.
Royal historian Robert Lacey revealed that the Queen had been preparing William for his future role as king from a young age.
"When William became a teenager, she would have him at Windsor Castle and would open the state boxes and guide him through the papers," he explained last year. "It was William's constitutional education."
