Man, 37, arrested by counter terrorism officers following string of attacks

The arrest is part of an ongoing investigation into a series of attacks on premises linked to the Jewish community in north west London, an attack on a Persian-language media organisation and the discovery of jars of a non-hazardous substance in Kensington Gardens

A man has been arrested on suspicion of preparing terrorist acts. The 37-year-old is the latest suspect to be taken in by police as they investigate a string of attacks on Jewish sites in London.

He is currently at a London police station for questioning. The man was arrested by Counter Terrorism Policing (CTP) at an address near Barnstaple, Devon.

The arrest is part of an ongoing CTP London investigation into a series of attacks on premises linked to the Jewish community in north west London, an attack on a Persian-language media organisation and the discovery of jars of a non-hazardous substance in Kensington Gardens

CTP say officers continue to work closely with Met Police colleagues in response to the series of arson incidents, which includes specialist officers providing protective security advice and support to a large number of organisations, community venues and businesses.

Since the attack on the Hatzola ambulances in Golders Green on 23 March, CTP officers have now arrested a total of 26 people. Eight people have been charged with arson-related offences and one person has been convicted of arson.
