Famous 90s child actor Georgina Sherrington looks unrecognisable today as she shares snippets of her life as a mum. The 40-year-old became a familiar face on ITV after landing the starring role of Mildred Hubble in The Worst Witch.
The beloved children's series ran from 1998 to 2002 before being followed by its sequel, Weirdsister College. Since then, Sherrington has appeared in five short films, an episode of All in the Method, and played Miss Locklee in Kill or Be Killed in 2017.
Alongside her acting work, she has been focused on making memories with her husband and their two children, regularly sharing glimpses of family life, from beach trips to teaching her kids how to ride bikes.
Commenting on a selfie she shared online, one fan said: "Been watching you on The Worst Witch as nostalgia. You were a part of my childhood."
Another added: "I miss you, Mildred. Best series ever." A third said: "I know you from The Worst Witch. I used to watch it a lot when I was a kid. I still watch it occasionally when it comes to mind (no matter how old I am)."
Thanks to its popularity, The Worst Witch returned to TV screens from 2017 to 2020, with the reboot later becoming available to stream on Netflix.
Based on the book series of the same name by Jill Murphy, the show follows Mildred Hubble and her friends as they navigate life at Cackle's Academy.
Mildred is known as the school's most accident-prone pupil thanks to her failed spells and constant mishaps, but that never stops her from trying her best.
Reflecting on the show on Reddit, one fan said: "I loved this show when I was little!" Another added: "The theme song made me so happy! I desperately wanted to go to Cackles Academy as a kid!"
A third fan said: "Actually, I forgot about this one." One more added: "I used to watch this all the time. I really only remember one episode, though. Good show."
And a final user said: "As a trans woman, this show was kinda like a comfort blanket for me as a kid."
