Woman hatches genius plan to meet Amanda Holden after spotting her in street
A woman who saw Amanda Holden while she was out walking her dog hatched a plan to get her attention for a photo - and it paid off in the most fantastic way
Spotting a famous face on the street can be a surreal experience. We're all aware that celebrities are just people - and they need to pop out for their groceries and walk their dogs like everyone else - but you never truly anticipate running into one unless you reside in areas where they're more commonly found, such as London.
So when one woman encountered Amanda Holden while she was out walking her dog on the Isles of Scilly, she was completely astonished - and immediately devised a scheme to try and catch the TV superstar's eye. Georgia May, who resides on the archipelago off the Cornwall coast, posted a video on social media in which she revealed her clever strategy to get the Britain's Got Talent judge to acknowledge her without appearing strange.
In her Instagram clip, Georgia was perched on a bench overlooking the ocean with her dog Maya when she noticed Amanda greeting a group of individuals off to one side.
Rather than approaching and inserting herself into the discussion when she wasn't welcomed, Georgia thought of a superior strategy - and dispatched her dog over.
The amusing video captures Georgia urging Maya to dash over to the group of people, some of whom also had dogs of their own. That way, she could retrieve her and then naturally encounter Amanda in the process.
Good girl Maya certainly grasped what she had to do, because she bounded off straight to Amanda herself, who was more than delighted to welcome the dog and give her a scratch behind the ear.
Amanda could be heard in the clip saying: "Oh, who is this one?"
The footage cut out before Georgia approached Amanda, though she subsequently shared a photograph of herself alongside the television personality.
She captioned the image: "What a fab day yesterday. Pimped out Maya to say hi to Amanda (see previous reel), legend dog. Amanda - what a lush lady. Truly so lovely."
Amanda wasn't the only notable visitor to the Isles of Scilly last week, as Prince William, who also holds the title of the Duke of Cornwall, was present as part of a two-day tour of the South West.
Georgia managed to capture a photograph of William, which she shared alongside her picture with Amanda, though it remains unclear whether the Royal had the pleasure of meeting Maya.
Commenters on Georgia's Instagram posts were utterly captivated by her encounter with Amanda, with many complimenting Maya for rising to the occasion and being the "best dog ever".
One person said: "Maya didn't mess around, she knew the assignment!"
Another added: "She understood the assignment totally!"
A third posted: "Brilliant, I knew Maya wouldn't let you down."
