Sunshine Fund

The Chronicle Sunshine Fund is a small North East charity that supports babies, children and young people living with disabilities and terminal illness by providing specialist equipment that is unavailable on the NHS, yet can significantly improve the day-to-day lives of local families. The equipment it funds supports children with disabilities, terminal and life-limiting illnesses in the North East. The Sunshine Fund was founded in 1928 when King George V donated £15 to take disadvantaged children to the coast when he officially opened the Tyne Bridge.
